Rocky Mountain Rural Health is a 501(c) (3) Not-for-Profit organization dedicated to health care in the South Park region.

Thanks to many generous donations in the past, we have a beautiful permanent “home for healthcare” in South Park. There is much work still to be done to improve access to care and community health education. Community Medical Assistance Program (CMAP) This program provides discounted health care through South Park Medical Group for uninsured patients. Fees are based on income and are discounted from 20%-70% of charges on any services provided at South Park Medical Group.
Families in Crisis Fund Funds are available to cover emergency expenses for families in the South Park area. Referrals to this fund come through South Park Medical Group and may cover medical co-pays, drug assistance, transportation, and other expenses related to physical and mental health issues.
Medication Assistance Program RMRH staff helps patients who cannot afford their medications, find and register for assistance Programs, sponsored by the various pharmaceutical companies which provide free or reduced cost medications.
Free Teen Health Programs No cost office visits at South Park Medical Group for general health education, sex education, birth control education, STD testing and physical exams. Visits and test results are all Confidential.
Women’s Health Program Low cost annual exams (pap, pelvic exam, breast exam) for women 20-40 years of age. Assistance to women over 40 who qualify for Women’s Wellness Connection in collaboration with the Summit Community Care Clinic.
Mobile Mammography Van Once yearly, RMRH works with the Susan G. Komen for the Cure Denver Affiliate to bring the Mobile Mammogram Van to Fairplay and Guffey. All women are welcome. Mammograms are free for uninsured and underinsured. They will also take commercial insurances (those with high deductible plans). Medicare and Medicaid patients need to be at least one year since previous Mammogram. Call RMRH office for next date van will be at both locations.
Children’s Dental Van Once a year RMRH brings the KINDS Dental Van (Kids in need of Dental Services) to Fairplay and provides comprehensive dental care including exam, x-ray, cleaning, and fillings. Children ages 2-18 are eligible. Call RMRH for next date the KINDS Dental Van will be in Fairplay.
Medical Equipment and Supplies RMRH supports South Park Medical Group in their effort to expand services which can be offered locally. This includes laboratory testing (blood work), x-rays, ultrasound, and Colposcopy. These services provide same day results and frequently eliminate the need to drive long distances to receive care out of the county. RMRH also helps cover the cost of medical supplies (dressings, splints, casts, IV fluids, etc) for uninsured patients.
Community Health Screenings and Education Programs RMRH believes in preventative care and patient empowerment through education. We have educational materials available to South Park residents for dealing with healthy lifestyles, disease prevention, self care, understanding prescription medications, and focused information on various diseases. Periodically, RMRH Staff go to communities across South Park to offer Screenings for high blood pressure, diabetes, elevated cholesterol, low oxygen levels, and More. RMRH also sponsors the Channel 9Health Fair held in Fairplay each year.
Sports Physicals RMRH believes that every child deserves the opportunity to participate in school athletic activities. All children and teens must have a Sports Physical each year in order to participate. In partnership with South Park Medical Group, RMRH provides low cost Sports Physicals before the start of each school year to all who wish to be in school sports. A certain number of free Sports Physicals are provided so no child is left out because of Iimited financial resources.
